About Longevity Physical Therapy
Clinical Approach to Physiotherapy
The body has an incredible ability to heal itself when properly guided. Our clinical approach to physiotherapy involves using principles strongly rooted in science to guide the processes of rehabilitation and training.
This includes looking well beyond the symptoms and performing a detailed assessment of each joint’s level function and capacity.
We highly value having adequate time to connect with, listen to, assess, educate, and treat each client in every physiotherapy session. For this reason, the initial assessment and all follow-up appointments are all typically one hour in length.
It is important that you are set up for success both in the clinic and at home. We ensure that each client understands the “what”, the “how”, and the “why” behind each physiotherapy exercise or intervention that they are doing.
At Longevity your physiotherapist will even reserve time in their schedule after each of your physiotherapy appointments to film videos for you, make you a personalized program (or update it), and embed all videos and any other resources that you would benefit from into the your program for you! These programs and resources are sent to you the same day, and typically even within one hour of your physiotherapy appointment so you can get started as soon as possible.
This ensures that when you leave our Saskatoon office that you are sent home with as many tools and resources as we can offer you to help set you up for success and feel comfortable and confident in what you are doing at home.

Background
Physiotherapy was never “a job” for Alex. Instead, becoming a physiotherapist meant freedom. The ability to go to “work” every day to do something she truly enjoys and simultaneously be in a field where being skilled requires you be continuously learning and staying up to date in subjects you find fascinating - is a privilege.
A part of acquiring this privilege meant spent 5 years working 10-14 hour days as a self-employed stone mason to fund her physiotherapy education. Every hour of labour was worth it. During this time she also studied kinesiology, exercise science, and nutrition. As she transitioned into the physiotherapy program, she was also working as a personal trainer at the University’s gym facility.
After putting her years as a stone mason and personal trainer behind her and graduating from the MPT physiotherapy program in Saskatoon, she remained hungry for more in-depth knowledge. This drove her to spend time traveling all over North America attending courses, seminars, and conferences to further build upon her knowledge base and maximize her ability to help others.
Alex was the first active Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist, Functional Range Release practitioner, ISM Strength Coach, and Kinstretch instructor in Saskatoon. This same training and rehabilitation system is also used with these certifications now being required by many NHL, NBA and MLB teams, in addition to Onnit Academy, Nike, the UFC Performance Institute, and others.
